Description

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF), Canada’s leading non-partisan, not-for-profit citizens’ advocacy group dedicated to lower taxes, less waste and more accountable government, has an opening for the position of Executive Director of Generation Screwed.
 
The Executive Director of Generation Screwed spends most of their time as the sole staff member of the CTF’s campus/youth outreach initiative, Generation Screwed.
 
The director is expected to work on all aspects of operating Generation Screwed, including recruitment of campus coordinators, training, creation of promotional materials, acting as spokesperson, organizing events and assisting the on-campus efforts by local coordinators.
 
It’s preferred that the director work out of the CTF’s Ottawa office, although alternative locations may be entertained. Expectations are that the director will be available at all times. The director is expected to attend meetings, provide materials and meet deadlines as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal Executive Director is a recent post-secondary graduate, with experience organizing political or public policy events and campaigns on campus. Experience with public speaking, writing, graphic design, and video production is an asset. Proficiency in French is not required, but is also a strong asset.
 
The director must be a flexible and creative individual, prepared to work long and sometimes unusual hours. The director is expected to take initiative in a dynamic and often unpredictable work environment. Above all, the director must be enthusiastic and committed to the mission of the CTF.
 
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
