Brunico Communications' industry-leading publication strategy is looking for a experienced magazine editor and writer for a full-time permanent position in downtown Toronto.
The associate editor will primarily work on the print magazine and assist strategy's editor and content director in efficiently managing and editing features, as well as working with the team to meet print deadlines. As a member of the editorial team, the associate editor will also pitch and write articles for the quarterly magazine, covering news that is of interest to marketers and agency execs.
They will also handle overall planning and execution of strategy’s weekly digital newsletter C-Suite; developing online enterprise content with print synergies. Their remit will also entail back-up online editing of strategyDaily’s’s online news.
**While we're looking for an associate editor to join our team and work with the content director, if you are a talented, quick-study deputy editor who falls shy of the AE role experience requirements, we invite you to apply regardless, as we'd be happy to entertain your candidacy in a special reports editor capacity (4+ years relevant experience).
- Seven+ years of editing and writing experience in a newsroom**
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- An eye for detail and copy consistency
- Strong aptitude for display writing and art direction
- Demonstrated ability to independently generate story ideas, research and write
- A team player attitude and a high degree of comfort working within a small editorial team
- Experience managing in-house and freelance editorial resources
- A background in business journalism is preferred
- Knowledge of the marketing/advertising and media industries are considered assets
