We are seeking a highly talented, experienced editor to help lead the 100 Mile House newsroom.
The successful candidate will be focused on coverage breaking news and other timely stories that fit Black Press Media’s hyperlocal community news mandates, as well as assigning, creating, editing, and posting stories, photo and video content.
This position is supported by the regional editor and group publisher, with a digital-first focus as one of the most credible publications in the region.

Qualifications
Black Press Media is looking for an up-and-coming editor with excellent understanding of social media, SEO, UGC, photography, shooting and editing video.
The succesful applicant will have outstanding writing and oral communication skills and a mastery of copy editing, grammar, and Canadian Press style, honed after years of newsroom experience.
Flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are vital.
Key importance is placed on the ability to maintain ongoing website optimization and the development of fresh content, driving immediacy and audience engagement. Outstanding leadership skills, and a demonstrated ability to direct and mentor a regional team of multimedia journalists are vital.
A valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and cellphone are mandatory. Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada.
