Description
Turtle Island News, Canada’s National Indigenous newspaper is seeking an experienced news reporter to cover Indigenous issues not only in our home community but develop news articles on emerging issues.
Responsibilities - Collect, verify and analyze newsworthy information
- Receive assignments or investigate news leads/tips
- Contact, interview and research sources
Qualifications
- Proven working experience as a reporter
- Portfolio of published articles or newscasts
- Ability to gather, write and edit news
- Computer proficiency: (MS Office, digital editing, web search, databases)
- Experience an asset
- Must have own transportation
- BS degree in journalism or mass communications
- Able to work evenings or weekends if needed
